Intr-o societate umana alternativa, in anul 1985 zilele de glorie ale supereroilor costumati sunt de mult apuse. Acestia sunt acum in afara legii, singurii care-si mai pot exercita puterile fiind cei aflati in slujba guvernului Statelor Unite. Cand unul dintre ei este ucis brutal, ceilalti pornesc o investigatie pentru a-l descoperi pe asasin. Eroii reuniti scot la iveala o conspiratie diabolica, care vizeaza anihilarea tuturor supereroilor, in scopul de a influenta balanta puterilor dintr-o lume nu foarte diferita de a noastra.
